UVM is a global leader in food systems education, research, and collaboration. We work to develop solutions to global food systems challenges through world-class transdisciplinary research, teaching, and outreach dedicated to improving economic, ecological, and human wellbeing. UVM offers study in Food Systems for undergraduates, masters, and doctoral students. UVM's Food Systems Research Center (FSRC) is the first USDA-funded research station to study the interconnectedness of all parts of a regional food system, from farm practices to food access.
FSRC PhD Fellow: Victoria Taormina
Victoria Taormina is a Food Systems Research Center PhD Fellow and a PhD student in the Animal and Veterinary Sciences Department. Victoria graduated from UVM in 2019 with a bachelor's in Dietetics, Nutrition, and Food Science and now works with Dr. Jana Kraft conducting research focused on dairy fat and human health.
FSRC PhD Fellows engage in meaningful research across a broad spectrum of Vermont and global food systems. Their transdisciplinary studies represent the diversity of food systems, addressing aspects ranging from agricultural practices to human nutrition to the management of food waste.
